Hello lovelies.
I have been on vacation, out of state, for the summer. Butt...... I will be back in NY in a few days. Here is an updated version of my schedule for the upcoming weeks. Sept 8th: Japan Nite at Lovecraft (listed as InkdBat Collective) Sept 17th: Viva La Comida (as part of CONARTISTNYC) Hope to see you guys there. Take care and be creative. Saturday, June 18th marked my second artist alley table. This time it was at Anime ToshoCon in New Jersey. This is the post to discuss how everything was, just so I can keep everyone updated on my experience. CHECK OUT THE VLOG OF KPOPTOKKI HERE
Pre Convention: Toshocon is a free to the public convention held at East Orange Public Library in New Jersey. Artist Alley tables were a $10 donation. They have a great Anime/Comic community and service several events through out the year. Jan 20th: I applied to Toshocon. May 20th: Received acceptance email for Artist Alley. This email was detailed with everything I needed to know: Where the event was, what was near the event area, how many artists were accepted, contact info and phone numbers, a event flyer to share on social media, information on parking... like everything. I did send an email asking about wifi, electricity, table size and how many helpers I was allowed. I received a response within minutes. So helpful, organized and detailed. <3 Their facebook page was updated frequently as well as the event page. They posted links for all their artists and guests. Super nice of them, I got to check out some of the artists before the event. Program schedules were released as well. June 18th: CONVENTION TIME AT THE CON: I left my house at 6.30am with Yaya and KpopTokki. They were my helpers for the day. I felt sick all morning as I did not sleep and stayed up all night drawing last minute stuff (Sailor Moon) and organizing things. I am such a worrier and tend to not be able to sleep before events. We took the subway ($2.75 each way) to make our way to NY Penn Station ($6.75 each way). There we took the 8.11am train to NJ. It took approximately 30mins from the city to get there. When we arrived at East Orange, NJ, the library was a short distance from the station. It was such a relief. We arrived there alittle before 9am which was our set up time. The main entrance was closed but we walked around and met with a Janitor at the side entrance and he showed us were to go. He was super excited for the event. I was drained already but my team was lively. We took the elevator where a woman greeted us and asked us where we were heading. We told her the artist alley area and she happily took us up to where we needed to go. We made our way and were greeted by staff that were so nice and helpful. We found our table which had my name on it. Also on the table were our badges and a bag. Inside the bag was a bookmark/event calendar thing, a pen, famous amos chocolate chip cookies, a bag of chocolate chip muffins, and a bottle of water. I was loving this place already. My team helped set up as I sat down and got myself together. The sleep deprivation was taking its toll early. Since my last con experience was alittle iffy as far as selling was concerned, I was really nervous about if I would do ok here. Staff continued to walk around, introduced themselves and make sure it was known that they were available if anyone needed help. They were all dressed up in cosplay. My favorite was Cruella DeVille as I have a soft spot for 101 Dalmatians. EXPERIENCE: People came in exactly when the doors opened at 10am and strolled thru artist alley before some people were finished setting up. Maybe a warning of someone yelling "Doors will open in 5mins" or something would have been helpful but my team and I were ready before then. :) Alot of kids and cosplayers at the event. Super cute to see all the kids dressed up as superheroes thanks to the free event area for them to make masks and capes. This time I had some more anime stuff than the last convention. That was a smart move thanks to KpopTokki for being my advisor on what to make. My across the way artist alley neighbors were the sweet and super sparkly Valley of Stars (definitely check them out, they have some soap that smells of amazingness and unicorn horns, just sparkly goodness.) Tons of people passed my table, stopped by to say hi and check out my work. My sis and her bunch came by to support me as well as an unexpected visit from my friends. I am grateful for all of it. It was fantastic. I also had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Brimstone, who was superbly awesome. We spoke for a while and it was just great. He is all over the place, a true hustler for his brand and I am so glad to have met him. And I met ThaGataNegrra who was great and her team was so pumped and lively. Highlights included a few interviews, pictures and a young girl that bought a Vampy pic and asked me to sign it. *swoons* It was great. I sold some original print pieces and buttons...tons of buttons. Main sales at my booth were misprints of prints that I may have cut wrong or just printed on different paper, stickers and buttons. Sailor Moon and Danganropa. Cosplayers of Undertale, Danganropa, Sailor Moon, Naruto seemed to be the bigger crowds. Overall: WAY better than I expected. I got a lot of great feedback and comments. It was surreal. Everything was great. I will definitely love to do this next year. Super excited for it. MY MISTAKE: Not enough sleep. Not enough clay charms. The donut rings and charms were a hit. I did not bring any notebooks, which would have probably done well too. This time I did have anime stuff AND I had a square so I could take credit/debit cards at the event, which was my mistakes from last event. AFTERMATH: I crashed hard when I got home and am still recovering. Take care and Stay Creative. Hello everyone.

I am so thankful for this. *hugs everyone* Sunday, April 10th, I had my first artist alley table at Kogaracon. Since everyone has been so supported and are dying to know how it went, here is a blog post so I don't have to repeat myself a dozen plus times, lol.
Pre Convention: Kogaracon is a free convention in New Jersey. It was held at Cook Campus at Rutger University. Artist alley tables were free as well. Feb.1st : I received the acceptance into Kogaracon's artist alley. Feb 5th: I sent out an email with a dozen and one questions because when I applied there wasn't any details for artist alley or pretty much anything else. (No response) March 5th: Messaged the con on facebook regarding any rules, regulations and information on the convention. Received a response that as they were still working on these technicalities with the school, please allow a week for more info to be released. March 15th: I messaged them asking if there were any updates. Though it was viewed on March 15th on their end, I did not receive a response. March 19th: I resent my email from Feb. 5th. with my questions for the convention. As this was my first con, I was starting to freak out. March 20th: Received an email apologizing for the late response. Majority of my questions were answered but not all. Was told there was a 50/50 rule at the convention. (50/50 rule means that 50 percent of the work I have must be original and the other 50 can be fan art. Fan art cannot exceed 50% but it is OK to have more original work than fan art.) Was also told that the tables are about half the size of regular con tables but they are working on getting bigger tables. March 30th: After finding out that it seemed like I was the only artist told about the 50/50 rule, I posted on their facebook page in hopes of clarification. April ??: On their page a post was made for artist alley. It included info that there was NO 50/50 rule. (I was pissed as I spent my last materials like button pieces on original work to even out my display.) Table size still no disclosed. Tables were also first come, first serve. Now that wording alone freaked out a lot of the artist as no clarification was made as to if their were enough tables for everyone and your PLACEMENT was first come first serve or if there were not enough tables and if you came early you get in, and if not too bad. April 7th: Convention program and maps released. April 9th: Last minute packing and freaking out. No sleep. Work, work, work... April 10th: CONVENTION TIME AT THE CON: With the first come first serve table situation, I was eager to get a good spot. I did not sleep on Saturday and stayed up all night in order to make more buttons (which I figured would be a good seller, but I was wrong, at least at my table it wasn't.) I left home with my team of 3 helpers at 4.30am. I was coming from NY and do not have a car to head to Jersey. If you know NY transportation, then you know Sundays are the worst days for it. Took the subway to Penn Station ($2.75 each way) , took a NJ Transit train to New Brunswick, NJ. ($14.00 each way) and then took a cab ($8) from the train station to the school since I didn't want to risk taking the bus and being late, as I had no idea where I was going. We arrived around 7.30am. Was the first to arrive. (Yes!) The campus looked lovely. I met with Jaren and he was super helpful and concerned with how we were doing during the whole convention. This really eased my nervousness about the con. Thanks Jaren. We were let in to set up at around 8am and I immediately when into a panic mode. After seeing a fellow artist alley members table set up, my mind went blank. They set up so nicely, with so much work, such high displays...I am so dead. After that initial shock, I snapped out of it and stopped looking at everyone else, just focused on my table. My table cloths were too short for the table, because I set up for a half table and we actually got a huge con table instead. It was a bittersweet moment for me. Luckily my helpers stayed focused and we rearranged the set up a few times til we got it just right. Thanks guys. EXPERIENCE: Cosplayers were awesome. Everyone was amazing. Dory came by to check up on us as she was taking care of the artist alley area. (Super sweet, thanks Dory.) Met up with a few people from the Kogaracon Artist Alley group, who were also sweet and awesome. Bands were great, loved Pixel Face (who I originally thought were called Pencil Face...lol) Lots of people passed my table, stopped by to say hi and check out my work. For that I am grateful. Even if you didn't buy anything from me, I appreciate the time to check out my stuff. It means a lot to me. Free Hugs Deadpool checkout of my chibi Deadpool. Gambit spotted my chibi Gambit. Awesome time, ran smoothly, smoother than I expected. Overall, great experience, fun time. MY MISTAKE: Not enough anime fan art. That was obviously the biggest seller at an anime convention. Why did I not have enough? Because while I freaked out about the pre-con stuff, I feel into a pit of "I am not going to this con." and "I can't draw well enough so I am not drawing at all" moments that hindered my progress throughout the months of preparation. AFTERMATH: I sold more original art than fan art. Mainly because I didn't have a lot of anime stuff, but I did have cute art, so that was a good move. The Ice Cream Buddies and Cookie Cat art were my best sellers. I sold enough to make my transportation and lunch. I did have Yaya with me and I paid her way too so because of that I didn't break even. And we bought stuff and traded with some great artists there. (thanks guys.) Overall, can't complain. I learned a lot, made new friends, got cool art and am looking forward to coming back next year, for an even better time at Kogaracon 2017. I will make another post soon on what I brought to the convention and my pricing if anyone is interested. Thanks for reading the hella long post. <3 Take care and Stay Creative. Hi there.
